In 1606 is er een bron gevonden, vandaar de naam ‘wells’ in Tunbridge Wells. De weg naar de bron toe was bekend onder de naam de Pantiles walk of Pantiles parade. De naam Pantiles komt van de soort bestrating die is gebruikt.
\nDe zonnewijzer ligt net achter de bronnen. De inscriptie op de zonnerwijzer: You may waste but cannot stop me.<\/p>\n
